The name Wilkins F. Tannehill denotes the son of the man this page is about: Wilkins Tannehill Esq., former Grand Master of Tennessee and Mayor of Nashville. Edits have been made within the page to correct this, along with supporting citation of a newspaper which issued a correction following the very same mistake of mixing up son and father. Despite many references online to a middle initial, authoritative sources on Wilkins Tannehill always refer to him accurately without the middle initial.
