A four-cylinder WAM?[edit]

"Clarify whether still working on four-cylinder as no news on company's website for nearly a year" (comment by "BikerBiker"). I can't yet find a reference for this; but when I spoke to the factory, they indicated that their priority was to develop a larger capacity 3-cylinder motor. If there is no reference then it should be removed from the article. It seems to me that Wilksch are teetering on the edge of financial viability so the 4 cylinder may be a pipe dream. --Biker Biker (talk) 13:37, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Like other small aviation companies, Wilksch struggle with the difficulties of a small market but high research costs and long lead times. However, now that Liberty intend to specify the 3-cylinder unit (once certified) for their popular XL2 aircraft, the future of the Gloucestershire company seems reasonably promising. Assuming Wilksch survives, the 4-cylinder will be next on the menu, and will be ideal for, inter alia, the Van's family of kitplanes. The 4-cylinder engine is expected to be a modular extension of the 3-cyl unit. Arrivisto (talk) 08:22, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]
