Which William Craig?

[edit]

There are two philosophers named William Craig. The subject of this article is William Craig, a logician who was a student of the philosopher W. V. O. Quine whose body of work was largely focused on logic. The other William Craig is a Christian philosopher whose middle name is Lane. It appears that the original author of this article confounded the two and mistakenly used the name "Lane" in this article. I have removed "Lane" from this article. I would also like to change "William Craig (philosopher)" to "William Craig (logician)" but I can't find a way to do this. I hope somebody figures it out. Wikipedia should provide instructions for editing the article title. ---Dagme (talk) 18:01, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nominated in Articles for Improvement.

[edit]

The subject is still alive, an emeritus at Berkeley. I presume this is as good a way as any other to be sure that he and those around him are notified. If there is a problem or question by the subject, by wikipedia admins, or others, please post to my talk. I will send an email his way at the earliest possible time tomorrow.Julzes (talk) 05:35, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent an email--that day relatively early--to the active professor apparently linked to the emeritus requesting I be notified if there is an interest, issue or concern. Nothing seems amiss. I will resign this as myself (Julzes) after noon (in a few hours--this is a technical limitation having to do with a lack of private internet facilities and time of week). I have noted the top-of-page material here. If problem is judged to exist, I am to be informed (per reason (i.e., if this section should not be here an admin should remove)).173.15.152.77 (talk) 13:33, 16 September 2012 (UTC)Forgot my earlier say. This is that signing.Julzes (talk) 00:35, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The subject has since passed away. yoyo (talk) 01:51, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This needs to be briefly described within the article body, perhaps under a section § Achievements, that would include at least two named theorems. It is also known as Craig's [re]axiomatization theorem. yoyo (talk) 01:51, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Have created that section § Achievements; it needs expansion; and the whole article needs references. yoyo (talk) 02:00, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
