William Harrison Riley entry[edit]

Hi. I've no idea if I'm posting this in the right place. I'm trying to discuss the William Harrison Riley page with previous contributors. There are some errors on the page, but when I corrected these a few weeks ago, the original version was reinstated. I'm writing a book on John Ruskin's Guild of St George (due out late 2012/early 2013) and I guess the best thing to do will be to wait until this has gone to the publishers before drafting a corrected version of the WHR page, with full references. I'm not really willing to do this at this stage, but would like cooperation when I eventually do so.

The original errors are understandable, given the available material, but my research over the past two years has revealed quite a number of new sources. I can expand on these in future, but it's worth noting at this stage that Riley arrived in Sheffield in 1877, rather than 1876, and that he did so on his own initiative, rather than at the request of John Ruskin. His involvement with Ruskin is a longer and more complex story altogether.

By the way, I have very little idea how wikipedia works, and am not particularly drawn towards it. I would, however, like to get the WHR page right over time.
