This page should not be speedily deleted because it was only a first attempt. More content describing the history, the main solutions, the research and standardization initiatives (e.g. in the Object Management Group) as well as the activities in fields of "Model-Based System Engineering" and "Internet of Things" (IoT) will be added shortly.
