Fair use rationale for Image:Xcel Energy.JPG

Image:Xcel Energy.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hello

Hello, I work for Vladimir Jones, an advertising and marketing agency that represents Xcel Energy. We plan to address the current note on the Xcel Energy Wikipedia article that states, “This article appears to be written like an advertisement. Please help improve it by rewriting promotional content from a neutral point of view and removing any inappropriate external links. (June 2009)” It is our intention to make neutral edits to update the content and hopefully address the note. In addition, there have been edits to the page by other editors that are not factual that we would like to correct. We aim to serve as a resource by helping to provide the most factual and complete information and welcome all feedback and edits from the Wikipedia community.

I will be strictly adhering to Wikipedia requirements that the entry be neutral, free of marketing and advertorial content, and have third-party citations needed for verification of all information added to the entry. As I said, I welcome any input, edits, and feedback from the Wikipedia community in regards to the Xcel Energy page. We will follow best practices in this area by asking for help, committing to neutral language, and having other editors review any potentially controversial edits.

Cabin Creek Scandal

The Cabin Creek incident should be considered for inclusion on this page. As it has been investigated and both OSHA citations and criminal charges were issued, I think it would help break up the advertisement quality of the page. Xcel_Company_Fire --OmegaPaladin (talk) 19:04, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi OmegaPaladin, thanks for this feedback. Information regarding the Cabin Creek Fire has been added to page under the section “Other Information.” Please let me know if you have additional feedback about the edits or the content on the page.
Thanks,

Disputed

This statement was added to the Xcel Energy article on September 28, 2012 "In 2010, Xcel Energy set up an ASEAN Joint Project Office (JPO) to offer services in relation to the USD 100 billion renewable energy development corridor in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. The firm continues to built it's order books, including major oil & energy projects in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia and China"

From my research, there are not any reliable resources that confirm this statement to be true or provide any insight about this happening. I would like to remove this content from the page but first would like to invite other editors to give their feedback. If there is factual evidence to confirm this statement to be accurate, please share this resource.

Thanks,

Because there has not been a response from the Wikipedia community with factual information to support the inclusion of this statement, I plan to move forward with the removal of the disputed content from the Xcel Energy article. We’ve come across another company located in Malaysia going by the name Xcel and believe the disputed information is related to this company, not Xcel Energy, Inc. I invite Wikipedia editors to review this statement in the future and consider it for inclusion should they find a reliable resource to support the statement.

Requesting Edits to the Xcel Energy Wikipedia entry

{{Request edit}}

We would like to provide needed factual, non-advertorial information that can be used to update the Xcel Energy entry so that the page consists exclusively of neutral content. Appropriate third-party citations will be provided in support of these requested edits.

(Lqualheim (talk) 15:06, 11 October 2012 (UTC))

We have moved forward with updating the article with factual and timely information. I would like to include a new section to the article that gives information about Xcel Energy’s energy efficiency programs for homes and businesses. The programs are an integral part of the company and the services it provides to customers. As of now, the article mentions the Windsource program but lists this description beneath Wind Power in the Generation Portfolio section. Windsource is not a method of power generation, it is a program that allows customers to designate that part or all of their electricity comes from a renewable energy source. For clarity and organizational purposes, I believe that it would be best to move this information to the proposed new section, Programs. Solar rewards, Saver’s Switch, Renewable Energy Trust and Lighting are the other programs that would be included in this section in addition to Windsource.
These edits are intended to improve the article with factual, timely and non-advertorial information. Before adding this section, I would like to invite the Wikipedia community to give feedback on the addition of this content to the article.
Thanks,

Because there has not been a response from Wikipedia editors on the addition of the Programs section, I will move forward with making these changes. Should an editor have changes or edits to this section in the future, I welcome all feedback and encourage discussion about the edits to this article.
Thanks,
