From 1996 until 1999 he was the artistic director and conductor of the “Bank workers Union of Magnesia Mixed Choir”, “Voliotiki Chorodia”(The Volos Choir) and the “Youth Choir of the Music

School of Magnesia”. Creating small instrumental ensembles that accompanied these choirs, he gave many successful concerts in Greece.
He was also artistic director of the “11th Festival for Sacred Choral Music of Volos” in April 1999. Since September 2003 Yiorgo is the principal conductor of “Orkest van Utrecht”, a chamber orchestra of Utrecht in The Netherlands. Since March 2004 he is also the principal conductor of the “Filharmonisch Orkest‘s-Hertogenbosch” in the Netherlands.
His repertoire expands from baroque until 21st century’s compositions in all fields such as symphonic, opera, ballet and oratorio, music for theater and music for children. He has given concerts conducting the Bach Collegium Stuttgart, Nederlands Promenade Orkest, Rotterdam Young Philharmonic, Rotterdam Conservatory Orchestra, Amsterdams Jong Excelsior and Ihos ensemble, Kaos ensemble, Anemos wind ensemble and several other conservatory ensembles whilst he has been studying in The Netherlands. He has been assistant conductor in Greece and in The Netherlands for several productions. He has conducted for the Rotterdamse Muziek Biennale and he has participated actively in “Thessaloniki 1997” and “Rotterdam 2001”, cultural capitals of Europe.
He founded Ihos ensemble, an ensemble that is inspired by the baroque as well as the very modern repertoire and the Greek 20th and 21st century composers. As a conductor he has recorded four personal CDs and one in collaboration with other artists. He has recorded for the Dutch radio during 2001,2003, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
He has taken part at conducting competitions such as the “Dimitris Mitropoulos” International Conducting Competition in Athens/Greece and won the “Orchestra Favorite” Award the 6th V. Jordania International Conducting Competition at the city of Chattanooga of Tennessee/U.S.A.

Since October 2005 he lives in Delft, Vermeer's hometown, a beautiful historical place, which is located between two major Dutch cities, Rotterdam and The Hague. At his free time Yiorgo enjoys listening to music, visiting concerts, playing the piano, going to the cinema, cooking, photographing, swimming, dancing Latin and Greek traditional dances and cycling by bicycle long distances.
