Did you know... that during the 1970s the New York Philharmonic's Young People's Concerts were broadcast live on CBS during primetime and was syndicated in over 40 countries?

Schelling did not direct the Young People's Concerts until 1958. Scelling died in 1939. I don't know who succeeded him but Wilfrid Pelletier conducted the series before Bernstein inherited it in 1958.

Split proposal[edit]

Proposing that the CBS television series be split off into its own article. Most of this article already deals with it, not the concert series.
