Abbreviation

[edit]

The abbreviation ZrP is misleading. ZrP (if it exists) would be Zirconium phosphide. Biscuittin (talk) 08:26, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Terminology

[edit]

This article seems to be mainly about Zr(HPO4)2 which is Zirconium hydrogen phosphate. Zirconium phosphate would be ZrPO4. Biscuittin (talk) 08:32, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Correction, I think it would be Zr3(PO4)4. Biscuittin (talk) 15:31, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Answer to Biscuittin concern: Zirconium monohydrogen orthophosphate it's actually the correct term for the alpha phase, but since the begging of this layered materials have been called zirconium phosphates because of the differences in stoichiometric between the phases (alpha, gamma, theta, lambda, etc.).
