Tan Ya (Chinese: 谭亚; born July 18, 1992 in Huaihua, Hunan) is a male Chinese slalom canoeist who has competed since 2008;[1] He finished in 19th place in the K1 event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.[2][3] Tan's personal best was the gold medalists at men's k-1 events in 2016 Toyama Asian Championships[4] and 2010 Xiasi Asian Championships.[5] As a slalom canoeist, Tan comes from Huaihua, Hunan, and receives training at Heyuan Water Sports Centre, Guangdong, he also represents Guangdong in domestic competitions.[6]
