Tanya Gold (born 1973) is a British journalist. She was educated at Kingston Grammar School and Merton College, Oxford.[1] She writes for a variety of newspapers in the United Kingdom, including The Guardian, the Daily Mail, and The Independent and The Evening Standard. She is a contributing editor of Marie Claire. In 2009 she was highly commended in the Feature Writer of the Year category at the British Press Awards.

She is best known for writing comic observational articles,[2] exploring her recovery from alcoholism,[3] and her undercover investigations into the television series Big Brother and the descendants of Nazis who converted to Judaism and moved to Israel. She has also written a column about giving up smoking, "The Quitter".[4]

In October 2008, she wrote an article for The Guardian about her alma mater: "Oxford is hellish. It needs to be broken apart and stuffed with state school kids - for its own good."[1] She criticised Merton and Oxford University, as well as the University's chancellor, Chris Patten, for a culture she saw as privileged, stratified by socioeconomic status, and emotionally repressive.
