Some of the writing here seems a bit too similar to the sources. It's generally pretty good, but could benefit from you going through and polishing it up to make it more distinct from the sources. Then it should be pretty decent, but I'll have a few more criteria to check. Abyssal (talk) 21:59, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Have done a rewrite. I'm assuming you were referring to the section concerning the night club incident, which seems to have been added to since I last checked, so I've concentrated on that, but also given other parts of it a polish. Should be ok now, but let me know if there are any more problems and I'll take another look. Cheers Paul MacDermott (talk) 12:39, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
I had considered nominating the injury of Gaby Scanlon for ITN. So I am supportive of this nomination here.
However, I think more could be done to improve the referencing in the article. The first sentence could use a reliable source to solidly define the topic. The editorialised thrid sentence (beginning with "however") needs a reference as does the claim that use of nitrogen "mentioned in an 1890 recipe book titled Fancy Ices authored by Mrs. Marshall".
I'd also like to see the article tightened up. Some sentences are very long and include two separate statements that can be challenged (e.g. "Liquid nitrogen has also become popular in the preparation of cocktails [because]…"). These tend towards synthesis.
I also think a more interesting hook could be arrived, but I don't have any suggestion for how to do so within the constraints of DYK. If these points can be improved (and I'm sure they can) I'll return to give support !vote. --RA (talk) 20:26, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
ok, hopefully got it this time. I've split one or two of the longer sentences and added more references. Scanlon's local MP intends to mention the issue in the House of Commons when Parliament returns next week, but I haven't added that just yet, thinking it may be better to wait till he actually makes his statement. Must admit I'm also stuck for a better hook, but wanted to get this listed. Hopefully somebody passing by might suggest one. Paul MacDermott (talk) 23:16, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
Looks good to me :-) --RA (talk) 12:04, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
Cheers. Decided to add the MP stuff as he has written to the Health Secretary about it. Hopefully more will be said next week. Paul MacDermott (talk) 14:31, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
