no_party
[edit]In /top, doesn't no_party=yes
seem like an oxymoron? Shouldn't it be something like parties=no
or consensus=yes

- Based on what I've seen, parameters that have the binary options of default or triggered are usually triggered with the positive voice. They usually use #if rather than #ifeq, so any input will activate the option, meaning you could also use no_party=true if that makes more sense. For some reason having a parameter that requires =no as an input seems odd to me, but consensus=yes would be fine. It will only be used on a few pages anyway, unless another jurisdiction wants to use the template. On a related point, what should we do with the NWT table, which only has one premier with a party affiliation? —Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 04:22, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- It makes sense to me, if
yes
adds a column,no
should remove a column. For NWT, two tables. 117Avenue (talk) 04:48, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- It makes sense to me, if
colour contrast issues
[edit]This template isn't adjusting for background text colours that have insufficient contrast with the default black text. So for the Liberal or BC Liberal red background, the default text should be white as black text on a red background does not create enough contrast for those with visual impairments.
Ideally, though, this template would segment out the party colour from the first minister ordinal in a separate column and also list the party name or abbreviation explicitly in the table. Currently it is only using colours to indicate party and that makes it quite inaccessible per MOS:COLOR. —Joeyconnick (talk) 03:48, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
- Colours are now in a seperate column. —Arctic Gnome (talk • contribs) 15:13, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
Allow Multiple Parties for a Single First Minister.
[edit]As far as I can tell, the template only allows 1 party per First Minister, this works fine 99.9% of the time, but makes it not work for William Annand on the List of premiers of Nova Scotia page, currently it just lists him as anti confederation, but he swiched mid-term from being Anti Confederation to being a Liberal, can the template be edited to allow this?
