This was created from {{nn-bio}} to deal with the specific case of bands. Please refer to Template talk:nn-bio until proper instructions get written here. Jamie (talk/contribs) 13:55, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Use of {{db-bio}}[edit]

The new optional parameter of {{db-bio}} makes that template able to handle clubs, bands and the like with a simple parameter. I have therefore changed this to call {{db-bio|band}}. See Template talk:Db-bio#Usage. DES (talk) 19:46, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please read Template talk:Db-reason before editing.[edit]

If you are contemplating editing this template, especially with regards to categorization or parameters, please read the discussion at Template talk:Db-reason.

{{db-reason}} is the meta-template from which all these templates derive, and is also used for CSD in its own right. Some of the other CSD templates are also used both as meta-templates, and as templates in their own right. Because of this, the relationship between these templates, their parameters, and the issue of categorization (so that candiate articles get categorized, but the templates temselves don't) is more complex that it appears at first glance. The discussion on Template talk:Db-reason should elucidate some of these issues. Jamie (talk/contribs) 04:27, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Expand to include albums and singles[edit]

I propose that we expand the wording of this template to include articles about albums or singles, which have been produced by non-notable bands. Today I came across two articles: one for a non-notable band (an unsigned myspace thingy), for which this db-band template is perfect. However, an accompanying article was about their first album - but there is no speedy template which explicitly covers this. I propose that this template could do the job adequately, as long as we modify the wording. Anyone agree? EuroSong talk 21:36, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Er, No. This tempalte presently reflects WP:CSD A7 quite precisely, and that criterion cannot be changed simply by changign thsi template. if you want to expand A7, start a discussion on Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion, and you will eventually need to post an invitation to discuss on the village pump, because such expansions require broad-based community consensus. Evene if thsi is doen, i would rather have a new but similar tempalte -- havign too many possibilities covered in a single db template can and does cause problems, and A7 is the worst case of this alrady. i advise you to read recent discussions on other proposals to expand A7 or add a new CSD -- all of which ahve been shot down -- before you start this one.
