Move
[edit]Can we move this to Template:Euro-labour-org-stub or Template:Euro-trade-union-stub pleaaaasssee :) - FrancisTyers 21:46, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
- This whole labour/labor thing is crazy isn't it. Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals#WikiProject Organized Labour went through some discussion on this last week. In the end I stuck with labor just to keep things a little shorter. I know the balance of the world (including me) uses labour, but it seemed reasonable and I would hate to see a different format just for the US. The text on the page is more accurate, so maybe just think of it as an abrv.? :) --Bookandcoffee 23:18, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
- I know its crazy, but it just grates me horribly - for some reason labo[u]r union/trade union grates me so much more than other stuff, like humor, flavor or organized. We had this issue with naming at Trade union. The choice was trade union, labour union and labor union. Pretty much the whole English speaking world with the exception of the US and Canada uses trade union, so it just makes more sense. If we want to abbreviate we could use Template:Euro-tu-stub. ;) I was going to mention it but then I decided against it for some reason regarding the name of the WikiProject, my preference would be something like WikiProject Trade Unions or something like that. I'm not even being Anglo-centric, because they use trade union in Ireland too, probably AU and NZ too. Blah, *shakes fist*, why did you guys have to go and make a new name for these things :P - FrancisTyers 23:25, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
- ... and India, and South America... So I don't know how redirects work with a template. Is it possible, or does it create an extra load for the system? Because one solution would be to have both spellings. --Bookandcoffee 23:52, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
