You're misunderstanding me. I'm asking why this template is being used as the *format* for references that cite this website. It does not use the correct layout for a reference, as it is designed for a different use, that being as an external link. See Template:Cite web for how a reference should be formatted. I understand what you're saying. When I created this template, I copied Soccerway's. Don't |name= and |access-date= suffice to qualify it as a reference? The websites FDJ and SW do not provide much more information. SLBedit (talk) 00:13, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
When using Soccerway as a reference, we should use Soccerway as the |website= and Perform Group as the |publisher=. That is not what we get when using the external link template.
