Purpose of this stub[edit]

Note: This stub is for those articles that deal with subjects in the texts of the Hebrew Bible or Torah or Tanakh or also known as the Old Testament. Please use the {{Judaism-stub}} (Category:Judaism stubs) for topics and articles that relate to other areas of the Jewish religion, i.e. Judaism, as well as to other Jewish religious texts. For topics and articles that relate to more general and secular areas of Jewish history use the {{Jewish-hist-stub}} (Category:Jewish history stubs). For anything that deals with the modern State of Israel please use the {{Israel-stub}} (Category:Israel stubs). Thank you. IZAK 06:11, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)

The image currently used on this stub template is listed as {{fairuseunsure}} and subject to deletion because no source is given. It should be possible to replace this image with a free alternative. Please also note that current policy does not allow a claim of fair use for images used on widespread templates. Making or finding a replacement would really be best. About the renaming[edit]

I wasn't around when the stub type was changed from Hebrew-Bible to Tanakh, but I would like to point out that I think it was a mistake, since this stub also is supposed to (and does) apply to the apocrypha. --Eliyak T·C 21:54, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

I propose to revise the text within the stub template from "Tanakh" to "Hebrew Bible" as the articles are of relevance and interest to Christians as well as Jews. Comments? - Fayenatic (talk) 20:21, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
It was me that renamed, and here's why. The name of the template is "Tanakh-stub" and it categorizes pages into a category called "Tanakh Stubs". I don't care whether the wording is Hebrew Bible or Tanakh, but if we do decide to change it back, the template and category names should be changed to match to prevent confusion. ~ L'Aquatique[talk] 21:27, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

I have nominated the category for renaming: see Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2008 December 2#Category:Tanakh stubs. - Fayenatic (talk) 09:47, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
