[edit]Matsui is wearing #3. Dshibshm (talk) 21:52, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
A source would be useful - I have yet to see a photo of him holding a jersey - there was no jersey at his press conference. JustSomeRandomGuy32 (talk) 22:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
I did see a picture of him in that uniDshibshm (talk) 22:46, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- Then prove it.►Chris NelsonHolla! 05:46, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Shawn Chacon
[edit]How could he be wearing #32? It is a retired number. Did the Astros un-retire it? --Street20 (talk) 06:51, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Seems like mlb.com has messed up. Photo here [1] from a few days ago - looks like a single digit to me... And 32 IS retired... JustSomeRandomGuy32 (talk) 07:29, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Flags
[edit]Why were national flags removed from beside the player's names? They need to be there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.79.62.16 (talk) 02:16, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
As I have pointed out, there is no reason not to have the flags. They don't disrupt the presentation and add information that readers are likely to want without taking any away. Most sports teams and many baseball teams indicate player nationality. The fact that other MLB rosters don't include information is not a reason to remove information from this template. Removing information for the sake of conformity is not constructive. If the flags were added to all MLB rosters, would there still be an objection? If no, then it's not logical to keep removing it from this one. -- PetevonPete 15 March 2017 21:35 UTC
- I reverted you per WP:BRD. MLB is not an international competition, so there's no reason to have flags. Also, see MOS:FLAG. A flag for each players is excessive. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:43, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- The Yomiuri Giants roster you linked too only recently had the flags added..... I have removed them and any others that were recently added should also be removed. Spanneraol (talk) 23:46, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- One user, AquilaXIII, added flags to a number of NPB and KBO templates. I'm reverting them. Will also have to check CPBL. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:14, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- Mobushgu Spanneraol Neither of you are actually providing a reason to not include the flags. The fact that MLB is not an international competition is completely irrelevant. Most sports teams in domestic club competitions include nationality flags. In international competitions, flags are pointless, because all players are from the same country. It was first said that they shouldn't be included because "no other team has them," and when I provided evidence that that wasn't true, you start removing information from other pages to retroactively make the argument right? How is that logical? PetevonPete (talk), 16 March 2017 01:35 UTC
- MOS:FLAG provides the reasons to not include flags. Also, check out Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Icons#Inappropriate_use, where they cite this example of having too many flag icons in the infobox. There are five flag icons in that infobox; this template has 53 players plus the manager and coaches. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:37, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

John Gall
[edit]He is an OUTFIELDER. His Wiki page even proves it.-DANO- (talk) 23:55, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
He's played infield in the minors and you cannot use another Wikipedia page as a source. --OaklandAthleticsfan (talk) 23:59, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Team colors
[edit]The red/sand colors that exist on the template are way too intense and at a quick glance do not remotely match the colors used on the team's website. I'm trying to correct these colors by adding those provided by SSUR.org (http://www.ssur.org/research/TeamColors/Baseball/MajorLeagueBaseball/MajorLeagueBaseball.htm), as they are dedicated to researching uniforms in team colors in all sports throughout history. I would think they are the most reliable source to derive colors from, as the MLB team sites don't seem to use a consistent solid color, but rather different shades and various gradients. Surely you can see the old red is more like maroon and the old sand is like a bright gold, when in reality, the colors are faded brick red and sand. Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 19:59, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- That looks like quality research, and based on my own experience seeing the Astros, those colors do look more accurate. I'd be okay with this change, as well as to all the other templates and infoboxes, if others are (or if no one objects).►Chris NelsonHolla! 20:00, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Jeff Fulchino and Number 39
[edit]When Brett Myers was introduced and given his uniform, he was given Number 39, the number he wore with the Phillies. Does anybody have any news on what number Jeff Fulchino will be wearing from now on? ---Peabody —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.51.216.55 (talk) 19:47, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
