Expanded list
[edit]Since around April I've been working on gathering information about LDS tabernacles. It is all very disorganized since I became too busy to find sources to fill in the remaining holes and distill the material into a coherent article. You can see it at User:Rich jj/Sandbox/Tabernacles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and you may notice a rather long list of tabernacles. So far this template includes several important tabernacles, but I would think it should also include the Hollywood Stake Tabernacle, Ogden Tabernacle, Paris Tabernacle, Honolulu Stake Tabernacle, and maybe several others. ——Rich jj (talk) 19:03, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know there are more I need to add, but didn't want too many red links without justifying their importance. Your page looks great...albeit large. Hopefully I'll have time to do a little more work on those after working on my film stubs project. ~Araignee (talk • contribs) 19:37, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
- If you're ever interested in helping on that article, I tried to explain my approach and the areas that need work in the talk page. In September I asked for help from the LDS movement Wikiproject and a few people made some tweaks, offered suggestions, and cleaned up references. ——Rich jj (talk) 23:10, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
- I think the best way to get this refined is to put it into public space, perhaps as a stub at first. I propose the intro moved to a public stub immediately, followed by expansion on the history when able in the same article. A separate article, entitled List of, should be linked from the main article with a brief description of some of the more important ones on the main article. ~Araignee (talk • contribs) 21:45, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
- I went ahead and created said page. ~Araignee (talk • contribs) 01:53, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Bear Lake = Paris Idaho
[edit]I'm not just erasing Paris because I think Paris is the historic name of the tabernacle. But anyway, one of these redlinks is redundant is my point.
- It's a good point. I stopped by to make it myself. I'm not convinced the Montpelier Tabernacle (no article yet) doesn't have dibs on the Bear Lake name? Thmazing (talk) 23:54, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
