Fully protected edit request on 7 October 2018

[edit]

A protected redirect, Template:Lookfrom, needs redirect category (rcat) templates added. Please modify it as follows:

  • from this:
#REDIRECT [[Template:Look from]]
  • to this:
#REDIRECT [[Template:Look from]]

{{Redirect category shell|
{{R from move}}
{{R from spacing}}
}}
  • WHEN YOU COPY & PASTE, PLEASE LEAVE THE SKIPPED LINE BLANK FOR READABILITY.

The {{Redirect category shell}} template is used to sort redirects into one or more categories. When {{pp-protected}} and/or {{pp-move}} suffice, the Redirect category shell template will detect the protection level(s) and categorize the redirect automatically. (Also, the categories will be automatically removed or changed when and if protection is lifted, raised or lowered.) Template-protected edit request on 17 September 2019

[edit]

To make this template a lot more useful, please change it to use {{fullurl: (and make it inside a class which hides the external-link icon) and have template options to hide redirects and strip the prefix from the search results. I have made these changes at {{look from/testcases}}  Nixinova T  C  20:20, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done: please make your requested changes to the template's sandbox first; see WP:TESTCASES.
Nixinova, the change you've made to the testcases does the opposite of what your request states. The example you've added at the head of the page is the only example on the page to have an external-link icon.
Your changes need to be made in the sandbox. The testcases page is to show the differences between using the live template and the sandbox version (or to show that changes have no detrimental effect).
I've resynced the sandbox with a copy of the live template, and restored the testcases to their original function, so you have a clean slate to start from. Hope that helps, Cabayi (talk) 08:59, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe this template should be part of the Category:Internal link templates also? —  Ark25  (talk) 17:37, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
