Document in example
[edit]The file 63980.TXT
is a document, not an "article". It's getting rather tiresome to have this correction reverted, doubly so that it's being reverted for a variety of nonsensical reasons. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:13, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
- I will make it more clear and put article for article, document for document. I'm even surprised for such reverts as question is really nonimportant but was confusing and I corrected it...--Obsuser (talk) 01:09, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- Contrary to your latest bullshit edit summary, it is not a "web page" (the clue is in the fact that it is on an ftp server, not a web server. It is also a text document, not an HTML document. And it is a series of data tables, not an "article". Furthermore, your
"In the article about The Seychelles, for document with URL..."
was grammatically incorrect. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:16, 2 September 2016 (UTC)- Please don't express that way. It is ftp or web or whatever but there is still no document about The Seychelles. It is not understandable and needs to be written other way. Right now, sentence is completely OK: In the article about The Seychelles, at ftp://ftp.atdd.noaa.gov/pub/GCOS/WMO-Normals/RA-I/SC/63980.TXT the |id= is RA-I/SC/63980.
- Please don't be that vain...--Obsuser (talk) 05:35, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Please don't try to police my language; and please don't make bullshit personal attacks such as accusing other editors of being "vain". You have failed to refute the file
63980.TXT
is a document. Calling it such is perfectly understandable; see for example Document, which says in its opening paragraph"In the computer age, a document is usually used to describe a primarily textual file"
. Note also that Text document redirects to Text file. Furthermore, it is not "ftp or web or whatever". It is a document on an ftp server. That is irrefutable. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:07, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
