Template positioning

[edit]

Would it be possible to have this template as a horizontal panel running along the base of articles? As it stands it potentially interferes with figures placed in an article. I was about to add some to ocean acidification but am afraid they'll look ghastly. Cheers, --Plumbago 17:45, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I second this request. This template is much too big to appear at the top of an article.--Srleffler (talk) 04:52, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Biological pollution

[edit]

Only a single entry here, invasive species, and no article on the topic itself (unsurprisingly given the single entry). I'm going to move it to the "Other pollution" category. Cheers, --Plumbago 14:54, 3 April 2007 (UTC) [Ratio active pollution] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.142.180.21 (talk) 02:03, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Global Distillation

[edit]

I created the article Global distillation. Would it be appropriate to include in the air pollution section of the template? Yilloslime (t) 18:12, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to reorganize subsections in "Air Pollution"

[edit]

Air quality: indoor air quality (IAQ), outdoor air quality (OAQ).

IAQ: microbial contaminants (mold, bacteria), gases (including carbon monoxide, radon, Volatile Organic Compounds), particulates
OAQ: smog, particulates, gases (including Volatile Organic Compounds, ...)

Smog is an environmental science issue pertaining to Outdoor Air Quality. Particulate is an OAQ issue. Air Quality Index is a scale of determining Outdoor Air Quality and not Air Quality itself.

Proposal:

1. Change: ("Air Quality" redirects to Air Quality Index)

2. Create a page on air quality covering Indoor and Outdoor air quality

or
Create a page on OAQ to be analog to the IAQ page.

3. Incorporate Smog and Particulate sections into article on OAQ.

Air quality is often associated with Outdoor Air Quality. Indoor Air Quality is also a pollution issue these days. Freefighter (talk) 01:45, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Remove the row of major organizations?

[edit]

I would suggest to remove from this template the row of "major organzisations". The ones listed there appear to be an arbitrary selection, there could be many, many more. I don't think it's needed for this template.EvM-Susana (talk) 07:41, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the colour of this template

[edit]

Please remove the yellow colour of this template as it doesn't look good. You can use the same colour as for the side box. EMsmile (talk) 03:38, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

thanks but could we ensure that both this template and the side bar template use the same colour? Currently they use different colours even though they are both about pollution. EMsmile (talk) 06:54, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done Best as I can tell, this has been completed. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 21:33, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Thermal" group is misplaced in this template and should be deleted

[edit]

The presence of a "Thermal" group in this template implies that it is a separate type of pollution. Thermal pollution is actually a type of water pollution.

The "Thermal" group in the template contains only one link: Urban heat island. That article is about climate impacts from urbanization. The link for the "Thermal" group goes to Thermal pollution, which is a type of water pollution. I have added a Thermal pollution link under the Water group. The separate grouping for "Thermal" is unnecessary and somewhat confusing. Moreau1 (talk) 01:27, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted "Thermal" group per previous comment. Moreau1 (talk) 16:29, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
