Group 4 - Straws, caucuses and primaries.

Straw directs to straw. Should direct to straw poll instead, I believe. (Unless pieces of straw actually decide nominations, which would be a bit worrying :) )

Immediate change needed

Some code needs to be changed as the last line in the template is not rendering properly at the moment: '|below = [[Template:U.S. presidential elections]]' needs to be changed to '|below = {{Template:U.S. presidential elections}}'

Please reconsider, per WP:R2D:
Exceptions:
  • It is preferable to change redirected links in series templates, such as those found at the bottom of many articles (e.g. {{US Presidents}} on George W. Bush). In this case, when the template is placed on an article, and contains a direct link to that article (not a redirect), the direct link will display in bold (and not as a link), making it easier to navigate through a series of articles using the template.

Super Duper Tuesday

Has been renamed "Super Tuesday (2008)." Should probably be removed from template since it refers to a Super Tuesday, and the Super Tuesday article already links to it. Also Mini-Tuesday (aka Super Tuesday I) may also have its name changed or its content moved, but no firm decision yet on that. Kallahan (talk) 19:07, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Both have been removed as one-time events that are already covered in the articles from which they were forked. Regardless, all the rest of the 'header' entries under "Straws, caucuses, and primaries" either have been or will be held during multiple election cycles. --Kralizec! This template is used on less pages than Template:United States presidential election, 2008 ([1] vs [2]) and it isn't nearly as widely used as these templates. I don't see any risk of vandalism that couldn't be dealt with without having this template protected. I've petitioned to have this page unprotected. ~ PaulC/T+ 23:31, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

South Carolina

Shouldn't South Carolina primary be added to go along with NH primary and IA caucuses? Awbeal (talk) 13:12, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

My presumption is that NH and IA are included because they are the first primary and caucus contests in the primary cycle. Adding elections after these two turns into a bit of a slippery slope. --Kralizec! (talk) 15:05, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
