The Godmother is an upcoming American biographical crime drama film directed by Gerard Johnson and written by Frank Baldwin. The film stars Catalina Sandino Moreno, Mehdi Dehbi, Diane Guerrero, and Skyler Gisondo. The film is about the former drug lord Griselda Blanco, known as the Cocaine Godmother.

On October 1, 2014, it was announced that Catherine Zeta-Jones was set to play the Cocaine Godmother and drug lord Griselda Blanco in the film The Godmother, on the script by Frank Baldwin.[1] Daniela Cretu would produce the film through First Born Films, while Nicholas Pileggi would be executive producer.[1] On October 30, more cast members were announced including Catalina Sandino Moreno and Mehdi Dehbi.[2] On August 13, 2015, it was revealed that Gerard Johnson came on board to replace Eva Sørhaug for the directing job, while Sierra / Affinity would produce the film along with First Born Films.[3] Alexa Demie was cast in the film to play the young Blanco's role.[3] On October 14, 2015, Diane Guerrero was added to the cast to play Eva, a mule for Blanco.[4] On October 20, 2015, Skyler Gisondo joined the cast of the film to play an ambitious frat boy who gets in the cocaine trade, while Olivier Martinez, John Leguizamo, and Jordi Mollà were also cast in the film. Nicholas Pileggi would also produce the film.[5]

Principal photography on the film began on November 4, 2015 in Puerto Rico.[4][6] As of January 2018, no release date has been announced.
