The Loud House is an upcoming American animated television series created by Chris Savino for Nickelodeon. The show follows the adventures of a boy who lives in a house with ten sisters.
The show is slated to premiere in January 2016.[1]
Plot
The series focuses on Lincoln Loud, an 11-year-old boy, who lives in a house with his ten sisters—eldest sister Lori, unintelligent yet beautiful blonde Leni, aspiring rock star Luna, jokester and comedienne Luan, energetic athlete Lynn, gloomy emo Lucy, personality-opposite twins Lola and Lana, intellectual genius Lisa and baby Lily—and how he tries to survive as the only son in the family by finding creative solutions to the ordinary and chaotic problems in the household.
Cast and characters
Main characters
- Lincoln Loud (voiced by Grant Palmer) — The main protagonist of the series. The only son and middle child of the Loud family; Lincoln is an avid reader of comic books, and frequently speaks to the viewer on how he gets around the often chaotic conditions of the household by finding creative solutions to his problems.
- Lori Loud (voiced by Catherine Taber) — The eldest of the Loud children (a fact she takes pride in); Lori is depicted as bossy, selfish and condescending towards Lincoln. Despite that, she does care about her brother and sisters.
- Leni Loud (voiced by Liliana Mumy) — The second oldest of the Loud children; Leni is depicted as a dumb blonde, who considers herself pretty, but is naïve and lacks intelligence and awareness.
- Luna Loud (voiced by Nika Futterman) — The third oldest child of the Loud family; Luna displays an interest in rock and roll music, and owns and plays an electric guitar.
- Luan Loud (voiced by Cristina Pucelli) — The fourth oldest of the Loud children; Luan is fond of practical jokes and comedy. She wears braces and has squirt-flowers on her shirt and shoes.
- Lynn Loud (voiced by Jessica DiCicco) — The fifth oldest of the Loud children; Lynn is very energetic and often engages in sports and other physical activities.
- Lucy Loud (voiced by Jessica DiCicco) — The fifth youngest of the Loud children; Lucy is a cynical, deadpan and sarcastic emo girl, who dresses in black and has an interest in poetry and gothic fiction. She has very pale skin and long black hair that conceals her eyes. Lucy also has an uncanny ability to suddenly appear in places, which often frightens her siblings.
- Lola and Lana Loud (both voiced by Grey Griffin) — The third and fourth youngest children of the Loud family; Lola and Lana are identical twin sisters who frequently quarrel with each other. Lola is a bratty girly-girl, who dresses in pink princess attire, whereas Lana is a fun-loving tomboy, who wears overalls and a baseball cap and loves to get dirty. Both of them are missing their front teeth.
- Lisa Loud (voiced by Lara Jill Miller) — The second youngest of the Loud children; Lisa is a child prodigy, who has graduated college with a PhD and often engages in complex equations and experiments. She wears large glasses and speaks with a lateral lisp.
- Lily Loud (voiced by Grey Griffin) — The youngest child of the Loud family; Lily is a toddler, who tends to defecate in her diaper and leave a foul stench, which is known to disgust her older siblings.
Supporting characters
- Dad (voiced by Brian Stepanek) — The father of the Loud children. His face is never shown onscreen.
- Cliff — The Loud family's pet cat.
- Clyde — Lincoln's friend, who harbors an unrequited crush on Lori.
Production
The Loud House was created by Chris Savino for Nickelodeon. Savino based the series on his own experiences growing up in a large family. He pitched the idea to Nickelodeon in 2013 as a 2½-minute short for their annual Animated Shorts Program. In June 2014, Nickelodeon announced that The Loud House had been picked up for a 13-episode season, making it the second series to be born out of the shorts program with Breadwinners.

Comics
A special comic book was available for free at San Diego Comic-Con 2015; it contained a story where Lincoln and his sisters fight over the last slice of pizza, featuring glimpses into Lincoln's imagination where the characters are depicted in a manga-esque style. The comic was written by creator Chris Savino with art by him and fellow storyboard artist Jordan Rosato.[9]
