The Wire Report is a news service in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that covers the telecom, broadcasting, wireless and new media sectors.

News

The Wire Report covers matters related to the telecommunications and media industries and is known for focusing on regulatory developments at the Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission, the Copyright Board of Canada, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal and Industry Canada.

Publication

The Wire Report was amalgamated from former publications called Canadian New Media, Network Letter, Canadian Communications Reports and Report on Wireless, which have about a 20-year history under various owners, including Evert Communications, Decima Research, and Dovercourt Editorial Services.

The online, subscription news service is owned by independent publishing company Hill Times Publishing in Ottawa, which acquired the service in late 2009 and rebranded it with a launch in January 2010.
