Theresa Nielsen (born 20 July 1986) is a Danish football defender who plays for Brøndby IF in Denmark's Elitedivisionen. Since 2008, she has been a member of the senior Danish national team.

Club career

Nielsen began playing football with Rikken, a club based in Valby.[1]

In 2012, Nielsen was named Denmark's Female Footballer of the Year after helping Brøndby to a league and cup double.[2] Nielsen's buttocks went viral in November 2014, when she posted photographs to Instagram of Brøndby's dressing room celebrating a 3–2 win over rivals Fortuna Hjørring.[3]

International career

At the girl's football tournament at the 2003 European Youth Olympic Festival, Nielsen scored in the final as Denmark beat Switzerland on penalties after a 1–1 draw at Stade Sébastien Charléty in Paris.[4]

Nielsen made her senior international debut for Denmark in March 2008, substituting in for Johanna Rasmussen 73 minutes into a 1–0 win over Germany at the 2008 Algarve Cup.[5]

She was named in national coach Kenneth Heiner-Møller's Denmark squad for UEFA Women's Euro 2013.[6]
