Tony Brice (born November 30, 1983),[2] better known by his stage name Tone Trump, is an American rapper.
Biography
Tone Trump is a West Philly born Muslim, Artist, Actor, Public Speaker , CEO, entrepreneur and brand ambassador. Trump took on the role of "man of the house" at the tender age of 9. This proved to be a pivotal point in his life as it began to shape him into the prominent entrepreneur we know today. His initial desire to be a professional basketball player ended after he was expelled from high school, for bad behavior, and soon the west Philadelphia streets became home to mischief and the foundation of his grind.
How did he get into music? Fate and hustle. Inspired by the likes of Freeway, Beanie Siegel, Schooly D and more. The Creed star recognized his potential in music as a hustle first. The always eager and forever confident hustler saw a golden opportunity in music and was determined to stake his claim as an artist.
In fact his first mixtape was a “Best Of Tone Trump” compilation made of his first recordings. A novice at best with little knowledge of the craft at the time, Tone’s confidence persevered creating the first of many projects that would begin to both inspire him and connect the dots for his career in music.
Trump’s intuition on his new music hustle was spot on. He knew he was onto something when one of his very first recordings was bought to be featured on a soundtrack in “Close to Death”, a documentary on urban gun violence by Philadelphia-based producers. The director Rick Kennedy shot the video for the track for free and that opened doors to a legendary interview with hip hop personality Lady B. After interviewing Trump, she went on-air to proclaim how fascinating and amazing he was and also predicted that he would one day be a Grammy winner. As if that weren’t amazing enough, the video for the track was also featured on NBC10 where the new artists’ lyrics were quoted by anchorman Timothy Lake. These pivotal moments put him on the radar of major labels across the country.
Determined to continue the wave, another big break came when Damon C Williams wrote an incredible article about Tone being “up next” after receiving an anonymous letter from none other than Trump himself. It was an incredibly courageous and smart move that paid off in a major way.
Soon the legendary DJ Kay Slay took wind of Tone's movement. Slay contacted Tone and was the first major D-jay with a wide audience to openly support Trump's grind. Not only did Slay grant Tone multiple appearances on his hit Sirius Satellite, Shade 45 show, running his music consistently, he also chose the artist to appear on the cover of Issue 14 of his national publication, Straight Stuntin' Magazine.
By Then Tone was no stranger to Mag covers and publications. He garnered over 20 write-ups and features In the Philadelphia Daily News, was hand picked by Philadelphia weekly as one of their favorite Philadelphians and received a cover story in the city paper, Not one but 2 Philadelphia weekly cover stories and is the only rapper to ever get the cover of the Philadelphia weekly music issue. The greatest hustler alive also has 15+ covers and spreads under his belt from mags like XXL, THE SOURCE, HIPHOP WEEKLY, URBAN INK, EXIT 21 and more!
Trump’s most notable accomplishments was his ability to take social media by storm by becoming one of the pioneers of the masterful use of Facebook and Twitter to brand his digital movement. Tone worked the, streets, Internet and everywhere in between doing non stop interviews, shooting videos and recording constantly. The Philly star worked his digital movement so well that he was branded, WORLDSTAR TONY, by the owner of WorldStarHiphop.com, the Number one Hiphop site and Forbes listed Top sites in the world.
On a fast track to stardom Trump, also began his first of many epic tour runs. The rapper found himself booked in big and small town cities across the country. Headlining on bills and platforms that artist dream of including NYC's infamous SOB's and BB King stages to name just a few.
Catching a major break at the end of 2011 with the release of his street banger Afghan (Produced by A One) was met with a request by Grammy Nominated artist Jeezy to be on the remix, an opportunity that would take his career to the next level. Soon-thereafter an agreement was reached and Trump was officially a member of Jeezy's newly minted CTE Record Label. Utilizing the same recipe, the duo dropped Real Niggas which was broken by legendary DJ Funk Flex on Hot 97. Trump kept his foot to the gas recording an entire unreleased project under the CTE umbrella. Tone later decided to leave CTE to pursue his own independent ventures and continue growing his Top Notch INC brand but not before taking new visibility and priceless game with him.
After a year of touring and collaborations with some of the hottest acts in the game, Trump continued his wave creating songs wit the some of the cultures best including Akon, Birdman, Warren G, Raekwon, DJ Kay Slay, Bun B, Jim Jones, Busta Rymes, Nore and more.
