Arsh Anwer Shaikh (born 9 July 2002) is an Indian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Indian Super League club ATK Mohun Bagan.[1]

Club career[edit]

Born in Durg, Arsh began his career at the youth system at ATK youth system. He was announced as part of the senior squad for ATK Mohun Bagan prior to their 2020–21 season. On 21 May 2022, Arsh made his professional debut for ATK Mohun Bagan in the AFC Cup match against Bashundhara Kings as ATK Mohun Bagan won 4–0.

The AFC first round of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification, which also served as the first round of 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualification, will be played from 6 to 11 October 2023.

Format[edit]

A total of twenty two teams (teams ranked 26–47 in the AFC entrant list) play home-and-away over two legs. The eleven winners advance to the second round.

The best losers of this round goes directly to AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers (Final Round) while rest ten losers enters the 2027 AFC Asian Cup Qualifying Play-off.

Seeding[edit]

The draw for the first round will be held on June 2023 at 11:00 MST (UTC+8), at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The seeding will be based on the FIFA World Rankings of June 2023 (shown in parentheses below). Teams from Pot A host the first leg, while teams from Pot B host the second leg.
