I am Nicholas (Nick, for short), better know as my username, MrScorch6200. I have used Wikipedia for years, but never bothered to create an account. Being here a just over a month, I like the community and the atmosphere here as all dedicated Wikipedia editors are determined, hard-working people taking time out of their day to contribute to the largest encyclopedia in the world. I am hoping to stick around in the near and far future.

My editing

During school, I plan on getting onto Wikipedia in the evenings after-school, and I don't want to be distracted from Wikipedia with homework! (Yes, I said distracted FROM Wikipedia). One thing that you might notice about my writing is that I use parenthesis a lot, ( ←these→ ), and commas (that→,). If I excessively use them where their is a better grammatical dictation then please fix it or let me know on my talkpage. Also, I get really defensive in edit wars, while staying within Wikipedia policy, so don't expect to win. Some of the pages that I like to edit are my favorite TV shows and video games. However, sometimes you'll find me skimming through random articles for grammatical corrections and false information. I am always triple checking my edits, so again, if I screw up let me know on the article's talkpage and/or mine.

I have recently gained an interest in patrolling newly created pages and tagging them for issues and deletion (and sometimes helping them to not be deleted). It is really amusing to me what some editors try to pass off as encyclopedic content. I don't go through all of the listed pages, however, I look for article titles and author names suggesting that the article has major problems or has conflict of interest. Most of these are articles are about Indian companies self-promoting themselves or just blatant vandalism and hoaxes. Saying that, I would like to thank User:RHaworth for his teamwork in deleting nonsense pages that I have tagged.

I am also trying to get new editors to read Wikipedia policy on creating articles so that we don't have nonsense articles added to the encyclopedia.

If you ever disagree, with my deletion tags, please remove it and discuss it with me. Just remember to NOT delete CSD tags from pages that you have created yourself. That is probably the one thing that I have issued the most warnings for on user pages. Contest the speedy deletion on the article's talkpage ASAP before the article is deleted.

My technological beliefs

Windows > Macintosh

Windows ≥ Linux

I hate Apple, but respect Steve Jobs (R.I.P) and Steve Wozniak. See my reasoning below.

MACs CAN get viruses. Not many MAC users get them though, because only 11% of computer users have a MAC, with Windows at 86% and Linux/other at 2%, so the everyday cracker (NOT hacker, there is a difference) will make malware for Windows and distibute it to Windows.

Why I hate Apple

Macs are basically have no upgrade-ability. Want to upgrade your RAM? Go ahead. Want a new GPU? Get a PC. THAT is the reason why no hardcore computer gamer has a MAC.

Apple isn't what it used to be. 'nuff said.

iPads cost $599.99+, iPhone 5s $299.99+, I'm okay with iPods until Microsoft reboots the Zune (lol).

Watch the iPad vs. Windows 8 commercials.

My ranting and raving about PCs/Stupid users

I fix PCs on the side. I've got to tell you, I know that 99% of the people reading know their way around a computer, but no one like me, and below is some of the stupid stuff I've heard and some of the stuff I want to say.

Of the people who own smartphones, 40% of smartphones are Android, 28% iOS, 19% Blackberry, 8% Windows, and 5% other. Go Android and Droid. I have the Droid Razr M.

99% of the "computer problems" that I get called onto are ID10Ts.

Today I asked my mom what Bill Gates is know for. Her response is, "Oh he made the computer. I know that, Nick, I ain't that stupid," I ask my brother. He says, "Oh, ummm, he made my iPod!" 02:10, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
