Jay Marciano is an American business executive and COO of AEG, and Chairman and CEO of AEG Presents. He is responsible for overall operational oversight of all of AEG Presents's holdings in touring and concert promotion divisions and their ticketing partner AXS

Marciano previously served as president of Madison Square Garden Entertainment before joining AEG Presents in 2011.

Career[edit]

Jay Marciano's concert promotion career started at the Beverly Theatre in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. He was hired by Universal Concerts in 1984 to oversee the Universal Amphitheater.[1] Marciano worked at Universal Concerts for 18 years, eventually rising to the position of President and CEO.[2]

Madison Square Garden Entertainment[edit]

In 2005, Marciano served as president of Madison Square Garden Entertainment, overseeing bookings, productions, and operations at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, The Theater at Madison Square Garden, the Beacon Theatre, and the Chicago Theatre.[3]

AEG Presents[edit]

Marciano first joined AEG Presents in March 2003 as Chief Strategy Officer when the company was still AEG Live. He was responsible for the development and overall operations of the company's regional offices and music festival division. In this role, Marciano was part of the team responsible for conceiving and designing The O2.[4]

In 2011, after leaving MSG Entertainment, Marciano rejoined AEG as President and CEO of AEG Europe.[5] He oversaw all activity in the European region across AEG’s 20 music and entertainment venues located in nine markets, including The O2, London; O2 World, Berlin; O2 World, Hamburg; Ericsson Globe, Stockholm; SECC New National Arena, Glasgow; Ahoy Rotterdam; and Ülker Arena in Istanbul.  While based in London, Marciano also oversaw the acquisitions of the Eventim Apollo Theatre and Wembley Arena, as well as the creation of the British Summer Time concert series in London’s Hyde Park.[6]

In March of 2013, Marciano was named Chief Operating Officer of AEG, parent company of AEG Presents.[7] In November of that same year, he became Chairman and CEO of AEG Presents.[8] He oversaw the rebranding of the company from AEG Live to AEG Presents.[9]

As chairman and CEO of AEG Presents, Marciano oversees a broad spectrum of music events, including tours for artists such as Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, and Justin Bieber, as well as such notable festivals as Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, Stagecoach, Electric Forest, Camp Flog Gnaw, and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, among many others.[10] In March 2024, Marciano organized an official partnership between AEG Presents and latin music promoter Cárdenas Marketing Group.[11]

Marciano began producing Broadway shows in 2023, serving as Producer on the Tony Award-winning musical comedy Shucked.[12]

Awards and Honors[edit]

Jay Marciano has been featured on Billboard's Power 100 List multiple times.[13][14][15] He is also the recipient of the cancer research and treatment organization City of Hope's Spirit of Life Award, which honors leaders for their notable contributions to their community and profression.[16]
