Etymology

[edit]

The name Osho International Meditation resort is envisioned by Osho as a combination of meditation qualities of Gautama the Buddha and the resort qualities of Zorba the Greek.

Architecture

[edit]

The campus has many pyramid shaped buildings the largest of which is a vast black pyramid, the Osho Auditorium which is used for meditations and has a capacity of 3000 people. Buddha-Groove is an open-air space with a marble floor, surrounded by bamboo groves and which is used for classes such as Tai-Chi. The Osho Guesthouse is also one of the attractions on the campus with 60 air conditioned rooms for singles and couples with attached bathrooms. Four of them are designed to accommodate people with physical difficulties.

Osho Teerth Park

[edit]

Osho Teerth Park is a 12-acre park created out of a publicly-owned former wasteland. Osho Meditators, from many different countries, created natural filtration systems to deal with the polluted drainage water and undertook tree plantation and landscaping.
