Captain Bernardo Herzer is an entrepreneur and inventor. He is a licensed ship captain [1] and holds more than 50 patents for his inventions.[1] He is also the chairman of the World Liquid Propane Gas Association's Marine Group. [2] He is best known as the founder and CEO of the company LEHR. [3] The company, founded in 2007, manufactures environmentally friendly products and tools that run on propane (also known as Liquefied Petroleum Gas.)
LEHR[edit]
In 2007, Bernardo created the technology and the company that started manufacturing the world’s first handheld garden equipment powered by propane.[3] The company also manufactures portable generators, mo-peds, lawn movers, go-carts powered by propane.[4] It was the first company to commercially introduce propane-powered boat engines into the market. Captain Herzer's LEHR introduced the first two models of these engines at the Miami International Boat Show in 2012.[5][6] In 2014, LEHR received a round of private equity funding from Solid Capital Partners.[7]

Captain Herzer was honored with the International Green Industry Hall of Fame Lifetime achievement award in 2017 and was inducted in the Hall of Fame. [8]
