Behrang Tonekaboni (born 2 January 6, Tehran) is a music critic and producer of Iranian music. As a journalist, he has written for several magazines such as Shargh and Etemad. He hosted a talk-show about music named "AHANG" in 2017.

Professional Activities

Press activities

Since 2008, Tonekaboni, along with Keyvan Farzin, has founded the Journal of Culture and Music. The magazine was continued publishing until April 2011; two more issues published in 2015. He was arrested following the arrest of media activists during Iranian presidential election protests on January 2010 and released on March of that year. He was also the editor-in-chief of Aftab's cultural-artistic monthly magazine, from 2011 to 2014.

Concert Producer

He has worked as a producer on concerts by prominent musicians such as Mohammad-Reza Lotfi, Hossein Alizadeh, Homayoun Shajarian, Hamid Motebassem, Mohammad-Reza Darvishi, and others. Behrang Tonekaboni's activities as a concert producer include:

The Monad Tour Concert: Hossein Alizadeh's Tour Concert was held twice in two years, from 2011 to 2013 in 26 cities in Iran. Performing concerts in small towns such as Behbahan and Siahkal was a great success that highlighted in media.

Hossein Alizadeh, Mohammad Reza Darvishi and National Orchestra of Ukraine Concert: In this concert String Department of Ukrainian National Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Sirenko performed Neynava, Ossiyan and Torkaman by Hossein Alizadeh and Kaleydar Suites, composed by Mohammad Reza Darvishi. Massoud Sha'ari, Behdad Babaei, Hoshyar Khayyam and Pasha Hanjani as soloists attended the concert.

Simorgh: The Simorgh Project, composed by Hamid Motebassem, is a masterpiece based on the myth of Simurgh and Zal by Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, which was performed and recorded for a big Persian orchestra by singer, Homayoun Shajarian. Behrang Tonekaboni managed the Simorgh Orchestra to play in Tehran and the Netherlands.

Advertising Activities

Tonekaboni joined Manijeh Hekmat at the Mice City movie project to design and execute the advertising campaign. The campaign, which began on July 2013 and continued until the end of the film's release in the fall2014, featured activities such as creating a Mooshna website, designing a strategic Mashvandan web game, producing dolls, etc. It received the thirty-third Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Simorgh.
