Biography

[edit]

Tway was born Carly Paige Tway in Edmond, Oklahoma, to Tammie and Robert (Bob) Raymond Tway IV, a professional golfer. [3] Tway often accompanied her mother as they traveled to support her father's passionate pursuit of golf.

Despite the challenges of having a father who often traveled to pursue his passion, Tway was determined to pursue her own passions. As a young child she set her sights on gymnastics and tumbling, devoting three years to the Oklahoma Dynamo Classic and Gold Invitational competitions. A few years later, Tway turned the focus toward her true passions: dancing, modeling, and acting.

Tway began dancing when she was three years old. She is well versed in several genres of dance, including contemporary, hip hop, jazz, pointe, ballet, and tap. She studied dance (from age 3 to 18) with Kim Massay Dance Productions, where she also taught jazz and hip hop (from age 15 to 18). Tway attended workshops and intensives training with Melody Lacayanga, Justin Giles, Marguerite Derricks, Dee Caspary, Stephen "Twitch" Boss, Jen Hamilton, and Napolean and Tabitha D’umo.

As a teenager, Tway danced in several Oklahoma stage and live performances. She showcased her talents in the 2012 Revolution Dance Company music video production of No Light[4], choreographed by Kristen McQuaid. Tway landed roles in two Callye Crespo ballet productions: lead dancer in the Coppelia Ballet Production and the evil stepmother in the Cinderella Ballet Production.

Born for the camera, Tway began modeling soon after entering high school. She won a model competition[5] and was selected to dance and model in the 3 Girls Fashion Show (2011-2012). Tway also won the 3 Girls Photography national senior model competition in 2012.[6]

As Tway approached the end of high school, the acting bug bit. She immersed herself in studies with the Advanced Teens program at the Marge Haber Studio in Los Angeles, CA. Her acting coach, Zak Barnett, is known for nurturing and developing some of the most recognized young actors to date. Tway also studied acting from Allen Levin and David Del Rio.

Captain of her high school pom squad,[7] Tway often performed with the Oklahoma State University All Pom team. While in high school she toured with the iHollywood Dance (2011-2014). She graduated from Edmond North High School (Edmond, OK) in 2012.

Tway has a brother, Kevin Tway, who is an American golf professional.
