Bloom Schools are schools that follow the Montessori method located in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bloom Preschool, Primary School, and International High School students^[1] range from age 3 through 19.

The school was founded by Maëlys de Rudder Tanović.

History

Established as a preschool in 2008 and named Blooming Child. Primary school classes began in the 2010 - 2011. Blooming Child school changed its name to Bloom in 2014

Educational Approach

Bloom’s education model combines elements of the Montessori philosophy, including the "cosmic approach“ to encompass holistic development. Bloom’s mission is inspired by Green school Bali.^[2]

Bloom is a Cambridge Assessment International School, and it is accredited by the Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board.

Awards

In 2016, Bloom received the “Montessorian Practitioner of the Year” awarded by the Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board UK.

In 2013, Montessori International Magazine (UK) published “Visiting the Jerusalem of the Balkans” focused on the Bloom education approach.

In 2014, Radio Sarajevo (B&H) published „School of Performing Arts open in Sarajevo” focused on the performing arts programme.

In 2017, Montessori International magazine (UK) published an article about Bloom Education Conference “Educating for Wholeness”
