Freddie Woodman, (born on 4 March 1997) is an English football player who is currently the goalkeeper at Crawley Town on loan from Newcastle United.[1]

He is the son of Premier league former Crystal Palace goalkeeper Andy Woodman. Freddie was born in London and first played for the England U16 before training at the Newcastle United U18 the academy of the club in which his father was the goalkeeper coach.[2]

Club career[edit]

Newcastle[edit]

Freddie Woodman was part of the Newcastle United U18 and following his training, he was put on loan to Hartlepool United. After returning from his loan spell, he played 0 matches for Hartlepool. While at Newcastle, he was the second choice goalkeeper behind Tim Krul, however he did not debut in the 2014/15 season. He was then put on on another loan to Crawley Town F.C for the 2015/16 season.

Hartlepool United[edit]

On September 16, 2014 Freddie was sent on a loan to Hartlepool, which resulted in him being benched and playing no games. The loan was recalled and he returned to Newcastle on October 21st of that same year.

Crawley Town[edit]

On Jul 29, 2015 Freddie was sent on another loan spell to Crawley Town. With the season yet to start, he has played no games.

International career[edit]

Freddie has represented England at under-16, under-17, under-18, and under-19 levels.[3]
