Art Davis (born 1982[where?]) is a German video and film director, producer, film editor, and color grader of American/German descent from Berlin. He has been directing music videos since 2013 located in Paris and Germany.

Early life

Art Davis grew up bilingual in Berlin. He started as a DJ and music producer under the alias Tre The Boy Wonder. Since 2013, Davis has been directing music videos, initially for independent artists.[1]

Since 2016, Art Davis has worked with established artists. He directed the hit music video for Ali As feat. Namika - "Lass sie tanzen" (Let Them Dance), which has garnered 31 million views (as of October 2020) with Daniel Sluga, helping him achieve a career breakthrough.

He has since worked with Adel Tawil, KC Rebell, Summer Cem, Farid Bang, Kollegah, Fler, Kay One, 18 Karat, Bass Sultan Hengzt, Fard, Pillath, SXTN, Majoe, Bozza, Kurdo, Prince Pi, and many more.[2][3][4][5] He has become one of Germany's most renowned music video directors. He now also works with international artists like French Montana,[6] Youssou N’Dour, Cheb Khaled, Mohamed Mounir, Leeroy Thornhill (The Prodigy), The Beatnuts, Afu-Ra, Jeru the Damaja.

The advertising world has also taken notice of him; Audi has engaged him for an advertising production in collaboration with Bertram Kropac. DefShop has enlisted him for the advertising campaign (concept) and visualization of the brands Ataque-Clothing and Deus Maximus.[7]

His video productions as director and film producer have altogether garnered about 323 million views (as of May 2024).[8]

In 2017, he and Daniel Sluga were nominated for the Video of the Year National 2017 at the Hiphop.de Awards for the video to Ali As - "Stuntman".

He has received three platinum and eight gold record awards for videos like Ali As feat. Namika - "Lass sie Tanzen" (Gold and Platinum), Adel Tawil - "So Schön anders" (3× Gold), Farid Bang feat. French Montana & Cheb Khaled - "Maghreb Gang", KC Rebell x Summer Cem - "Murcielago", Bozza - "Elbe", Majoe - "Ewigkeit".[9]
