Peter Heckenberg (born Peter James Heckenberg, 30th June 1961 in Maitland, New South Wales and featured in many Australian rock band during the mid 1980's - late 1990's
Early Years
[edit]Peter James Heckenberg (born June 30 1962) known as 'Heck' is an Australian rock drummer born in Maitland, New South Wales. Moved to the Western suburbs of Sydney in 1968 and attended Inglburn High School and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
During the 1980's rock era Peter Heckenberg along with Craig Csongrady (Vocalist), Kevin Pratt (guitarist), Warren Mason (guitarist) and Peter Waterank (bass guitar) formed the group BB Steal after leaving Boss and recorded their first EP Heart Beat Away. A music video was produced for the title track and featured on the Australian music show The Countdown when it was released in 1989 but Peter left the group soon after.
After Peter's departure from BB Steal and filling in for The Party Boys he joined Black Cat Moan with members Steve Crofts, and Bob Spencer (from The Angels), Frank Grubisa, Wayne Jury and Paul Kostromin.
In 1989 Peter joined The Bombers along with Alan Lancaster previously from Status Quo, John Brewster (from The Party Boys) Bob Spencer a member of The Angels and Tyrone Coats
Peter moved to New York in 2003 for studio work and to pursue a musical teaching career
