About Me
[edit]Hello, my name is Carl . I am currently a student at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, studying Landscape Architecture and City Planning in the Faculty of Architecture while at the same time studying about Japanese culture and traditions. I have some experience in Japanese but don't count me in as fluent. I specialize in landscaping and getting to know the experience through experimentation.
I was born November 1994 in Quezon City, Philippines, which is not the best of all places. The distance to the city dump from my first "house" is a mere kilometre away and I was exposed to the challenges of life from the earliest stages. My family lived in a slum community for three years. My parents sold vegetables, but it was always at a risk of being demolished by government officials. Around 1997, my family moved in an apartment/tenement financed by my aunt and uncle, who were working at Saudi Arabia at that time (since moved to Minneapolis, MN); it was located in Imus, Cavite around 30 kilometres south of the border of the National Capital Region. There, my parents opened a door and window manufacturing business. Early on, I believed that Architecture would be my goal, as I saw the manufacture and assembly of different designs and different strategies. Another one of my favourites is looking over in the roof and try to see the skyline of Metro Manila, which is usually blocked by smog.
As money began to accumulate from the window and door manufacturing business, my family then moved to a single-story duplex housing in Dasmariñas in 1998. We then acquired a new house in the suburbs by 2001, not far from our third home. By this time, I would be building cities out of cardboard and had a toy train set that i had integrated well with the city. In 2007 I moved to Canada.
Photography Projects
[edit]I had just recently bought a new SLR camera. I will be touring around Winnipeg (and hopefully other areas in the future) and take a picture of its landmarks for use here in Wikipedia.
Currently my camera is at: Winnipeg, Manitoba (with me)
