Description[edit]

People's Choice December to Remember is a concert series sponsored by 94/7fm Alternative Portland. The location of the event is in Portland, Oregon. The event spans over a number of days during the beginning of the December month. The most recent years have been changed to the People's Choice format, allowing for listeners to decide the bands that will be included in the concert series. Considerations for the bands that are to be included in the concert event come from listener surveys and most popular requests. The event is usually sponsored by another production, along with 94/7 fm. Other sponsors of the event have included, Budweiser, Beacon Audio, Dick Hannah Subaru and Widmer Brothers Brewing. The first year of the event was held in 2005, since then the event has been held consistently for nine years. [1]

Promotion[edit]

The radio station promotes the concert event by advertising ticket sales over the radio, social media sites and also through alternative websites that provide ticket sales. The radio station provides advantages to listeners of their station by further providing discount tickets prices, advance notices of pre-sales and winning of tickets through contest.Concert tickets range in price from $15.00 to $40.00, prices vary depending on the band(s) performing.[2]

Venues and Audience[edit]

Concerts are open to all age groups. A 21+ age group area is provided within the venues for older audience members. Venues for the concert alternate depending on the year the event is hosted. The most common venues for the event are the Crystal Ballroom, Wonder Ballroom, Rose Garden, and Roseland Theatre. All range in capacity. The Crystal Ballroom hosts the majority of the concerts throughout the nine year span; providing space for up to 2,000 concert attendees.[3]
