Celts

[edit]

If you want me to assume good faith, do it first, and stop qualifying academical and university sources as "amateur". Or did you have a "personnal agenda" to place this expression ?--Sleeping water (talk) 14:14, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

This is seriously getting to be tiresome.
This was one of your sources...
http://www.data-wales.co.uk/celt.htm
Are you seriously suggesting that is an academic source?
This was another of your sources:
http://schule.salzburg.at/methoden/unterricht/kelten_2000/keltenbuch.htm
It's a project by school children.

Notability of Walkers are Welcome

[edit]

Could please explain your reasoning for the removal of the notability template as the article clearly comes nowhere near the requirements for WP:ORG? 86.159.100.127 (talk) 15:41, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

"supported by multiple reliable, independent, non-trivial sources." Such as? 86.159.100.127 (talk) 19:28, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Mere mentions in the media and on websites (BBC or otherwise) amount to little more than promotional pap and do not provide the depth required to support an encyclopaedic article. I shall restore the notability template to encourage other editors to provide acceptable references. 86.159.100.127 (talk) 12:21, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Hey

[edit]

Thanks your your advice. I would argue it was a test page though as his attempt was to create a guideline for a game he made up, and so it was nonsense as it had nothing to back it up as it was irrelevant to actuall games. Sopher99 (talk) 13:44, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Please take another look

You recently voted in a Articles for Deletion debate regarding the Staff Nurse Ella Kate Cooke article. Since your vote, I have completely re-worked the article and added reliable sources to it. In light of this, could you please reword your vote as a response that relates to the re-worked article (whether that be Keep or Delete)? SilverserenC 01:22, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

WOW! Thanks for letting me know

[edit]

I didn't even know there was such a list regarding edits made! Funny I was the last one on the list. I saw lots of userboxes at the bottom of that list page. Do you know how to make and/or adject one of them? I only ask because I've uploaded over 600 photos to Wikimedia Commons -anyone can check-- but also, the main reason I appreciate things like Barnstars and now, this cool thing is that often as a wikignome/wikifairy working on unreferenced articles, "I can't get no respect"! Having userboxes and barnstars on my page make new users pause and re-consider before leaving snarky messages on my talk page! could you help make them for me, or find someone else who can? It would help a lot. Thanks! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 17:01, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Again, thanks. Though I love the "infobox barnstar" idea, and will probably adapt to them in the near future, I'm happy just to have that userbox of over 600+ photos uploaded to Commons since all but a small percentage involved writing photographers to see if they were at all interested, then explaining what Creative Commons is, and all that stuff, (giving up their copyright for very little personal recognition) and still hope they'll allow their photos on Wikipedia. I feel like the used car salesman of the digital age!! Thanks for all your wonderful help!! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 16:38, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Kenneth Kim

[edit]

Just a note to let you know I declined your speedy deletion on this article; I see little, if any, promotional material on this article; G11 is only for articles where it is purely promotional and requires a fundamental rewrite to become encyclopaedic. If you have concerns about specific portions of the article, you could remove or rewrite those sections as being promotional, and/or add a neutrality maintenance template to the article. In addition, remember that speedy deletion criteria are only for uncontroversial deletion; bear in mind that this article has already been taken to AfD and the result was no consensus. It should only be deleted as a result of a new AfD discussion. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 20:59, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your help yet again!--Leahtwosaints (talk) 14:29, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Why did you mark my article for speedy deletion? Sautner is an Austrian writer, he already published three novels, whose topics are the Yeniche people. There is nothing comparable in Austrian or German literature. In addition, with three novels, Sautner fulfills the notability criteria, doesn't he? Please explain or/and withdraw your request. Thank you. --Torsten Wittmann (talk) 12:49, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Category?

[edit]

Hi, I need to know if you (or someone you know here) could start a Category here for people who play the Weissenborn? Here is a page full of names of people who perform on the instrument, but it's listed as something different entirely at the bottom of the screeen. [1] It's about the company that manufactures it for only a paragraph] The rest is a list of accomplished players is enough, that I can't believe there isn't a Category for it. We have Categories for every other instrument almost.. even one for slide guitarists.. Can this be done? --Leahtwosaints (talk) 17:24, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

THANKS! You know my focus in all of Wikipedia (with a minor exception of architecture), has been music and the biographies of musicians. From there, I prefer to focus on musicians who have had a major impact on society. Within THAT, my interest is usually the guitarists, since I play, and slide guitarists in particular; thus my interest in Lowell George (founder of Little Feat)-- who I knew for two short years before he died-- I was just about to turn 18 when that occured, and) it's the reason I do not edit his article, because of the temptation to add real but unsourced info from personal experience or issues like WP:OWN. My mom played slide; I wasn't too good at it, but watching Lowell and Paul Barrere play, it sunk into me, you know? So it should be no wonder that I edit Mick Taylor, a bit, and really want to see Derek Trucks (and his bands-- The Derek Trucks Band and the slide guitarist Duane Allman- led Allman Brothers Band), Rory Gallagher, and others-- Sonny Landreth, etc. covered. The artist on the weissenborn --which is after all, played like a dobro or steel guitar with the slide, is Ben Harper. Check him out!! Here are a couple of videos that showcase his singing and playing-- the first two with Harper are honoring Bruce Springsteen seated next to the President,--both songs are by Springsteen here (the 2nd one with the weissenborn for charity) and then a funky cover of a Bill Withers song! He does some great stuff of his own, too.

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:30, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
