Born in the small city of Monrovia, CA, Chaaz Williams has always been creative. He grew up in a family full of talent, including his father Donnie, who was once the world international karate champion and featured in 18 martial art films including the karate classic “Enter The Dragon”. Chaaz’s father’s true calling in life was Christianity and the church, which drove him to open multiple churches throughout California. Chaaz was his father’s main assistant and was always helping his father build, rebuild, move city to city, and wire electronically all of these churches.

Growing up, Chaaz always had a dream of becoming a film director. When he was 12 years old, his father bought him a camera and he became the director of all his church’s services. As he gained more experience, he started to take serious interest in the film industry and began studying graphic design and film editing. Chaaz eventually ended up at USC Film School. He was breezing through his course load during his first year at school but grew bored of the process and lack of hands-on experience that his curriculum entailed. Chaaz decided to then attend the Hollywood Film Institute where he passed with flying colors and was actually able to work on film projects like Eagle Eye and Charlie’s Angels as one of the assistant editors alongside Wayne Wahrman.

Once he finished school, Chaaz opened a production company and was shooting videos fulltime. Two years later he ran into one of his neighbors, Stanley Randolf, Stevie Wonder’s drummer at the time. They discussed what they were both doing at the time and eventually decided to open a recording studio. Thus, Deuce Deuce Studios was created and quickly became one of LA’s hot spots to work at. Within 3 months of opening, Chaaz began working with Bobby Brackins, Ray J,and fellow producer Nic Nac and the hit song “143” was born. No more than a year later after Chaaz parted ways with his business partners to pursue his own vision of directing films and producing music, LW Media Group was created. Since the company’s beginnings Chaaz and LWMG have been working with American Idol artists, Master P, Romeo Miller, and Cymphonique Miller of No Limit Records, Nick Cannon, The Rangers, Mistah Fab, Meek Mill, YG, Ya Boy, The Cataracs, G-Seven, RealName Brandon, Skweez,and many more artists you hear all over the radio today. Chaaz is living proof that a disciplined upbringing in a good family, combined with hard work and countless hours fine tuning his crafts will lead to continuous and mounting success.
