Andrew Louis Klemm (born March 28th, 2000), known professionally as Drew Louis, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer, best known for his work with Sony Music Japan on The Gospellers single "Loving Out Loud".[1][2][3] Louis independently released his debut single in 2020, "Blocked",[4] and co-wrote "Petty" with Indonesian singer-songwriter, Francis Karel, in March of 2021.[5] He has also written and produced with other artists including Joe Ryan III,[6] and Mayu Wakisaka.[7][8][9]


Early Life

Andrew Louis Klemm was born in Akron, Ohio. He spent his entire early life in Hudson, Ohio[10], and went to Hudson High School.[11] Coming from an artistic family, he was exposed to a wide variety of genres from classic rock, to jazz, to R&B.[12] Louis started his musical journey by studying at the Young Actors Studio in Hudson, Ohio,[13] and he started writing his own music around age ten.[14] During his time in high school, he fronted the local band Treemore.[15] After graduating high school in 2018, Louis began to study songwriting at the Los Angeles College of Music.[16]


Career

Louis's musical career began while still being a full-time student at the Los Angeles College of Music.[17] During his junior year, he met Japan based singer-songwriter Mayu Wakisaka, and they began virtually collaborating. Subsequently on January 5th, 2020, "Loving Out Loud" by Japanese a cappella vocal group, The Gospellers was released, marking Louis's first major label release with Sony.[18] While writing and producing for other artists, Louis launched his own artist career with "Blocked"[19] on December 9th, 2020. He then co-wrote "Petty" with Indonesian singer-songwriter Francis Karel, which released on March 28th, 2021.
