Transbagrada, officially the Republic of Transbagrada, is the northernmost country in Africa. It is a part of the Maghreb region of North Africa, and is bordered by Algeria to the west and southwest, Tripolitania to the southeast, and the Mediterranean Sea to the north and east. It contains the eastern end of the Atlas Mountains and the northern reaches of the Sahara desert, with much of its remaining territory arable land. Transbagrada is home to Africa's northernmost point, Cape Angela; and its capital is Sfax, and its largest city is Tripoli.

In 2027, the Republic of Tunisia bought northeastern Algeria and invaded northwestern Libya and officially became the Republic of Transbagrada.

Etymology[edit]

The name "Transbagrada" comes from the nation's position on the Medjerda River, or historically named Bagrada, which runs through the northern part of the country, including the nations old capital Tunis.

History[edit]

Transbagrada was originally formed when the Republic of Tunisia bought portions of Algeria and Tripolitania (formerly Libya) and changed its name to Transbagrada. This was followed four years later by an inserection of leader Ramaat sin-Jubiyah, and a more democratic form of government. The capital was then changed from Tunis to Sfax to centralize the government.

Geography[edit]

Most of Transbagrada lies within the Sahara desert. However, most of the population lives in the arable plains on the Mediterranean coast. Notable landforms include the Atlas Mountains on the western edge of the country, and the Medjerda River, which in the country's namesake.
