Politics[edit]

Stephen Skacall was elected as Presbyterian College's delgate to the national convention of College Democrats of America in 2007 and was chosen to serve in Oklahoma's delegation to the Libertarian National Convention in 2010. Due to his diverse interactions with various political parties, Skacall considers himself to be a true independent willing to work across party lines.

Stephen Skacall has advocated for adequate funding for Oklahoma's higher education system without raising taxes and, until recently, served on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Student Government Association, an organization which lobbies the Oklahoma Legislature on behalf of the state's college students.

Among his campaign's publicly announced legislative priorities are reducing the state sales tax on groceries, enacting tougher penalties for drunk driving, and legalizing write-in voting.
