Richard Gyan-Mensah
[edit]Richard Gyan-Mensah is a Ghanaian and politician who is a member of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the people of Gomoa West in the Central Region (Ghana). He was elected on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (Ghana).
Early life and Education
[edit]Richard Gyan-Mensah was born on 20 June 1982. He hails from Gomoa Brofroyedru in the Central Region (Ghana) . He had his secondary education at the Apam Senior High School and further studied at the University of Cape Coast where he obtained his Bachelor degree and his MSc - Accounting & Finance at the University of Ghana .
Career
[edit]Prior to entering politics, Richard was the Finance & Planning Manager at Petroleum Solutions Limited in Accra.
Politics
[edit]In 2020, he was elected to be the Member of Parliament for the Gomoa West constituency. He won the parliamentary seat during the 2020 Ghanaian general elections by winning with 29,822 votes out of the 55,057 valid votes cast making 54.17% against his opponent Alexander Kodwo Kom Abban 25,235 (45.83)%.[1]
Personal Life
[edit]He identifies as a Christian and a member of the Methodist Church Ghana. He is married with Four Children.
