Ordered on September 4th, 2009, the car was assigned VIN 2G1FT1EW0A9150257 and built on September 28th, 2009 as a 2SS/RS model. It was then modified and finished in time for the 2009 SEMA show.

The GM 2010 SEMA press release states that due to strong positive consumer reaction, Chevrolet announced it will release a special-edition Camaro model called the Synergy Series in Q1 2011, based upon Camaro Chroma first exhibited at the 2009 SEMA show. While the original Synergy was only offered in Synergy Green and with the six-cylinder engine, the 2011 edition will be offered in four colors (Cyber Gray, Victory Red, Summit White or Black) as well as a choice of V8 or V6 2SS or 2LT trim levels with the RS package.
