Jericho! Improv and Sketch Comedy is a UC Berkeley-based, entirely student run comedy group founded in 2005 [1]. The group specializes in long-form improvisation, video and stage sketches, as well as hidden camera stunts (guerilla improv). They host a weekly improv show each Friday during the school year at 8PM known as a series of "Friday Night Mash-ups." Also, they incorporate stage and video sketches in two larger weekend shows each semester. The group is led by a producer and assistant, two improv directors, and a sketch director elected at the end of each academic semester.
Outside of Berkeley[edit]
Jericho! has had numerous members train with notable professional groups such as Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade and Improv Olympic.
In 2008, Jericho! sent two members to the finals of the National College Comedy Competition in Aspen, Colorado. In 2009, Jericho! repeated the feat, sending three members and finishing in 3rd place. [2]
Jericho! annually participates in the Fracas! Improv Festival hosted by USC each April.
In the Fall of 2009, jericho! participated in the College Improv Tournament hosted by the Chicago Improv Festival. [3]
