Bert Rodriguez Bert Rodriguez (born May 31, 1975) is a contemporary American visual artist based in [[1]]. His practice spans a broad range of media including performance, neon, sculpture and video.

Life and Work

[edit]Rodriguez studied art at the New World School of the Arts, graduating with a BFA in 1998. In 1999 he studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Portland, Maine.
Works
[edit]His work has appeared internationally in many museum exhibitions such as In Your Own Image: The Best of Bert Rodriguez Vol !; Where You End and I Begin. a survey show presented by the [Museum of Art] in Miami Beach, FL. (2009). In the Beginning . . . for the 2008 [Biennial] in New York where he built a white therapy cube and gave participants therapy sessions every day for three weeks. @@@ A Wall I Built With My Father and A Meal I Made With My Mother two site-specific installations for Le Plateau, FRAC Ile de France, Paris in 2008. His work is held in public collections including: Rubell Family Collection, [of Contemporary Art North Miami ], Miami Art Museum and [Museum of Art], Missouri. He shows at Fredric Snitzer Gallery in Miami. He is the subject of the 2011 feature-length documentary film, Making Shit Up. ###
